Belief Statement

I believe that all students are competent, capable learners who can make thoughtful decisions about their own learning when they are respected and trusted. I value building an equal partnership between educator and student, grounded in mutual respect, collaboration, and shared responsibility. I believe students' identities, backgrounds, and cultures are essential to learning and should be meaningfully woven into classroom experiences to create instruction that is personalized, differentiated, and responsive to individual needs. By fostering a collaborative learning community where student voice is central, my teaching becomes more intentional and reflective. I believe this approach nurtures a community of care that promotes belonging, engagement, and well-being, ensuing students feel emotionally safe and see their sense of self valued and reflected within the classroom.
